Raise the Joy Level

Circus and play have long been beloved ingredients of our schools and family ministry. The pandemic has had an immeasurable impact on mental and physical health and family relationships.

We see an increased need for intentional opportunities for families to play, connect, move, laugh, build trust and find joy together.

“Raise the Joy Level” will bring the circus to town, facilitating family circus sessions and play days or weeks in a Big Top tent. Woven in to these experiences will be interactive Bible storytelling, Gospel illusions and other opportunities to encounter the good news.

As missionaries with a history of mobilizing families into mission, we also intend to partner with churches, offering “Raise the Joy Level” as a tool to complement their local outreach, providing training and missional opportunity for their members. We will also offer this experience to schools, helping them to enhance their family and community relationships.

In the year before Covid came along we ran circus skills lessons as part of the PE curriculum in 12 schools. We facilitated family circus sessions in 4 C of E schools, partnering with their linked churches. We have piloted “Raise the Joy Level”- type family play activities in various locations through our work with YWAM Family Encounters and with World-Changing Families at Creation Fest.
